Piano Lessons and Courses at UA Little Rock

In July 2022, Dr. Holzer received the honorific promotion to University Professor of Music.  In April 2017, Dr. Holzer received the Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching for the College of Arts, Letters, and Sciences at UA Little Rock. She enjoys working with students on musical discovery, and helping them achieve goals to develop their potential and excel. Her mission is to develop independent learners who are equipped for a lifetime of musical involvement. Her students have participated in summer music festivals and competitions such as the Eastern Music Festival, and the MTNA Collegiate Artist Piano Competition. They have gone on to graduate school, and careers as teachers, entrepreneurs, and performers, working in public and private schools and as independent music teachers and church musicians, as well as careers in the fields of law, business, medicine, and information technology. The Arkansas State Music Teachers Association honored Dr. Holzer by naming her College Teacher of the Year in 2001. A well-rounded musician, she engages in interdisciplinary teaching, and seeks out collaborative opportunities, such as partnering with the Sequoyah National Research Center and faculty in History, Anthropology, and Geography as part of observances for America 250 for an event featuring music by guest composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate (Chickasaw Nation).
